A DAY LASTS ALL WEEK AT SHOP FOR CHARITY DAY
New Online Shopping Mall Benefits Local and National Organizations
BELLINGHAM, WA, March 22, 2005 - Shop For Charity Day launches a new online shopping mall today with a vision to change the way fundraising is done. At this E-mall a day lasts all week. Every Tuesday is designated Shop For Charity Day, but shoppers can come back and purchase items 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Every purchase generates income for organizations across the United States and helps people around the world.
At SFCD anyone can easily add their favorite U.S. nonprofit organization, cause or business. The sole purpose of the company is to generate streams of income for organizations.
"Our goal is that no one will buy a product or use a service without benefiting a cause they believe in," said Ginny Dye, CEO and Founder of SFCD.
"I spent a lot of years doing fundraising for youth groups. It frustrated me that there was never enough money for our programs. Always at the back of my mind was this nagging need to find an easier, more efficient and lucrative way to raise much-needed funding," continued Dye.
Dye never found that way for her youth groups. But she is now providing it for others. SFCD has the most generous fundraising cash back program of its kind on the Internet which is directed to the organizations and businesses on the SFCD E-Mall.
"Anyone can easily sign up their favorite group," Dye says through a huge smile. "Even their kid at college."
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that e-commerce sales for 2004 hit $69.2 billion. And total online sales have steadily grown with 2004 seeing 7.8% increase over 2003. There is plenty of money to go around.
SFCD features a new organization on their site every week. Shoppers can choose to shop to benefit that organization or any other group in the E-mall. If their favorite group isn't there, they can easily add it. There's no membership, no sign-in, and no credit card registration because all tracking is done by organization not shopper.
"Our main thrust is to get everyone to shop for their charity, business or cause every Tuesday here at SFCD," says Dye. "But since we're an online mall, shoppers can come back any time of the day or night and shop to their heart's content. All the while they are generating income for worthy causes. Now that's win-win!"
