Who Are We?

In order to answer that question I have to start with a story. In January 2005, a group of 6 people gathered in a house on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington. Their mission, as they talked for long hours around the fireplace, was to develop a way to help change the world. Those talks led to the development of Shop For Charity Day, Inc.

Instead of forming a non-profit organization to vie for already limited funds, we decided to create a company that would provide funding and volunteers for great organizations already in existence. Our vision was to create a company that would allow your supporters to pour revenue into your organization without their giving any additional money. We decided to make this our gift to the world, investing close to a half million dollars in money and time to make it a reality - then gifting it back to the organizations people told us were worthy to receive it.

With those goals in mind, Shop For Charity Day, Inc. was born! We created a complete, On-line Shopping Mall designed to funnel profits from everyday purchases right back to organizations like yours.

You may be familiar with fundraising malls. But we are different.

One of our primary goals is to be different from every other Mall out there. While there are some great Malls, our commitment is to excellence in every area. Our goal is to raise $100 MILLION for organizations in the next 12 months. We can only achieve that by doing everything a "little bit better".

  • We have more stores than any other Mall - close to 1000
  • Our goal is, if it can be bought, it can be bought on our Mall. We are committed to providing a vast variety of stores and products - with each merchant meeting a strict set of criteria to ensure shopping satisfaction.
  • There are hundreds of name brand stores, as well as hundreds of lesser known stores that pay higher commissions.
  • 4-75% of the purchase price on each product or service bought goes to the organization. The huge difference is that we offer the most generous cash back program of its kind on the internet to the organizations we support!
  • Exciting weekly e-mails promote purchasing. It's not enough to build a great Mall. It's equally important to give you and your supporters a reason to visit us. That's where our exciting weekly newsletters, customized store specials e-mails and all our FREE gifts come in.
  • We track by organization, not by the individual shopper, so no one ever has to join or give us their credit card information.
  • We provide a Feature Story about one of the organizations in our database on our home page every week. Each group will be individually considered as to its scope of outreach and service as well as to whether it falls within our guidelines.   • We provide you with your own Project Manager - a professional trained to help you optimize the potential of your E-Mall, as well as helping you realize all the benefits of the "Internet Age" for organizations.
  • We provide your own, customized, Branded Mall. Our organizations asked us for their own Branded, Customized E-Mall created just for them. They didn't want their supporters to have to go through the Shop for Charity Day Mall - they wanted them to go directly to an E-Mall created for them. They didn't want it to cost anything, and they didn't want to spend more than a few minutes of their time on it every week.
