Years of being involved in fundraising and helping others has instilled a deep passion in our Founder and CEO, Ginny Dye to create tools to help individuals, organizations and businesses change the way they do fundraising. It was this passion that led to the creation & development of Shop For Charity Day.

Ginny's background includes being the author of 18 books; owning a Publishing Company; 20 years of Sales & Marketing Management; 18 years of involvement with youth; creating Internet Marketing Systems; and the development of corporate training materials for several companies.

She is passionate about her mission - changing the way Fundraising is done.


Gordon Owens
Executive Director

With over 30 years in the high tech industry and another 20 years in retail as owner/manager of his own chain of stores, Gordon Owens, Shop For Charity Day's Executive Director, brings with him a unique perspective when it comes to marketing over the internet.

Prior to joining SFCD, Gordon was a Microsoft consultant for more than a decade, helping to release products like Windows 95 and XBox. During his tenure, he developed business systems and websites for their vast sales and marketing initiatives.

As Executive Director, Gordon drives technical and business development calling upon his Accounting and MBA degrees to build SFCD responsibly. With passion and zeal, he is committed to SFCD's number one goal: create massive funding for worthy causes, not just once but for decades to come.


Gary Goodspeed
Director of Media Productions

Gary Goodspeed brings many talents, as well as an impressive background of marketing and/or support representation for various computer and software companies, earning many awards for his marketing efforts.

In his role as a Regional Manager, Gary was called upon to open expansion offices for two different companies. He proved to be the most productive Regional Manager in the company by gaining a 34% market share, in less than a two year period.

In his position as Corporate Relations Consultant with Shop For Charity Day, Gary works closely with businesses and Media Markets all over the country to fulfill his deep desire to help them create significant funding.


Petrina Lance
Director of Administration

As Shop For Charity Day's Administration & Marketing Consultant, Petrina Lance brings 28 years of business expertise and skills ranging from owning and managing a small restaurant to being an Executive Assistant in Washington State government with many free-lance opportunities in between.

She has organized and managed three state offices from the beginning of their program existence; been an Investment in Excellence Facilitator; been a State Coordinator for the Washington State United Way Combined Fund Drive; served on the WorkFirst Advisory Board Committee; is an Auction Coordinator for a local Foundation Board; assisted in the rewriting of a police manual in Washington State; and Marketing Coordinator for both a local company and real estate company in Seattle.

Her goal and passion is to bring her varying business expertise to SFCD to provide the platform for individuals, organizations and businesses to truly change the way fundraising is done.


Dr. Robert Armstrong
Director of Training

Dr. Robert Armstrong (Dr. Bob) brings many unique talents and abilities to his role as Corporate Training Consultant. His background includes 5 years as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army with six months spent as a Platoon leader in Vietnam. He was sent home early from Vietnam with a Purple Heart as a result of wounds sustained in combat. One year was spent as the Commanding Officer of an Airborne Infantry Rifle Company in the 82nd Airborne Division and the last two years were spent as an "A-Team" leader in Special Forces.

After leaving the military Dr. Bob became a newspaper publisher for a while but eventually returned to school and became a Doctor of Chiropractic. His practice extended over the next 13 years until an old injury forced him to retire. During that time he also served as editor of his state's Chiropractic Journal while also serving on the Mississippi State Governor's Advisory Board For Radiological Health for seven years.

Over a decade of volunteer work with various non-profits has given him a passion for fundraising, and years of working with people have given him a passion for helping people achieve their true potential. He has taught numerous motivational courses over the years helping people achieve high levels of success.


Sandi Valentine
Director of Communication

Sandi Valentine comes to Shop For Charity Day from a long line of writers with an ability to reach hearts and create action in her readers.

Her experiences and extensive world travel has given Sandi the ability to empathize with others. "Being able to feel what they feel fuels my writing."

As Implementation & Communications Consultant, Sandi insists on the highest and most creative standards of writing for SFCD. From weekly newsletters, stories and training e-mails, to news releases and special projects, she strives to create the desire and impetus in individuals, organizations and businesses to benefit from this cutting-edge fundraising program.


Owen Ott
Director of Systems Administration

Owen retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of active service at home and abroad.

He currently works part-time as a Visual Studio programmer and data analyst. With over 15 years of web development, several years of SQL Server administration, and programming experience in Visual Basic 6.0, Visual Basic .NET, JavaScript, PHP, and the Macromedia Suite applications, Owen comes to Shop For Charity Day highly qualified to serve as Systems Administrator, Project Lead & Webmaster.

In his travels, Owen found people in need. He became part of Shop For Charity Day to help make a difference because, "One person cannot help everyone, but collectively, we can." As SFCD's Webmaster he has found a way to help change the lives of others through the very company that holds the same vision.


Carl Zetterberg
Director of System Design & Graphics

Carl has spent the last 25 years in the world of high tech, helping a number of companies develop hardware and software systems to meet customer needs. He has extensive experience in project management and managing development teams.

In his roles as project manager, he has worked with all areas of business, and understands the roles of finance, sales, marketing and how they work together with development to produce a finished product.

In his role as System Design and Animation Consultant, Carl uses his broad spectrum of abilities and knowledge to take Shop For Charity Day to the forefront of fundraising and achieve its goal of helping millions of people around the world.


Kathie Zetterberg
Director of Design & Graphics

With over 30 years in the graphic and printing industry, Kathie brings her experience in design and graphics to Shop for Charity Day as the company's Design & Graphics Consultant. Working in pre-press production for an international printing company has given her an insight of current trends and a professional look to her work. With the dawn of the internet, Kathie has added this new way of communication to express herself through graphics.

Kathie has been involved and is extremely interested in many causes. She has done historical research pertaining to early Seattle (then Washington Territory). She has probed into Native American relations with early settlers of the area and has had much involvement with museums, historical organizations and is a member of a Native American Tribe.

Kathie says, "Shop for Charity Day is a wonderful way to reach out and help people and causes." With her passion to help those in need, protecting the environment, as well as helping animal rescue groups, historical preservation, and many others causes, she has found a way to truly make a difference.

Marilyn Lindman
Director of Special Projects

Marilyn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Social Work. She has spent the last 36 years working with young adults in the college environment. Her problem-solving, strong organizational skills, editorial and writing skills, and willingness to learn and experiment with new computer and internet programs bring additional strengths to the Shop For Charity Day leadership team.

SFCD gives Marilyn the opportunity to broaden her experiences working with and reaching a wide variety of people and groups. Her love of people and spirit of helpfulness are welcome assets to the company.

As the Special Projects Consultant, Marilyn assists the company's communications department as well as assisting in researching and creating special projects as needed by other team leaders. Through these projects she is able to help even more people, organizations and causes which further expand the passion she brings to Shop For Charity Day to make a difference in our world.

Shawn Dowdy
Director of Customer Service

Shawn Dowdy, as Director of Shopping Promotions, is responsible for the creation and distribution of our shopping contests and incentives. She also changes out the Mall's Hot Deals daily to keep them fresh and current. Shawn and her team scour the Mall constantly for up-to-date specials providing the very best shopping experience for our members.

Shawn's positive attitude, wonderful sense of humor, willingness to think outside the box, and passion for helping equip others who want to make the world a better place are evident in all she does for MPM.

Nita Johnson
Director of Shopping Specials

Nita Johnson, our Director of Customer Service has a BA degree in Anthropology and a MA in Liberal Studies. On her way to make a living in California (from South Dakota), she stopped off in Denver, Colorado where she remained. Nita recently retired after 37 years working with the faculty, staff and students at the University of Denver. She now pulls on those years of experience to expertly guide the customer service side of My Power Mall.

Nita's patience, quick sense of humor and compassionate nature serves her well as she strives to answer questions and ferret out information for our MPM members. She does everything with dispatch and excellence. With hundreds of emails pouring into her Inbox every day, Nita is the "eye of the hurricane" as she retains her calm in the midst of urgency.

Brad Gerver
Director of Marketing

Brad Gerver is a retired elementary school teacher and performing blues artist with The Buzzard Brothers, a Flagstaff, Arizona band. He is also a published children's author, songwriter, radio broadcaster, bumper sticker writer, political humor writer, product namer, and published cartoon writer/creator (but he says, "don't ask me to draw!").

Brad comes to the position of Director of Marketing with a strong desire to bring the best stores, rebates and merchandise specials to our online shopping mall. His quick wit, passion for the vision of MPM, and expertise in communication empowers his relationships with our merchants and fuels everything he does!
