About Being Safe On The Internet
But Were Too Afraid To Ask!
We are going to try and make this article about safety and safety on the Internet as simple as possible. So let's just plunge right in. When the internet was first conceived it was set up for the purpose of having computers talk with each other. That way research information could be shared more easily. But this is not the 1960's and now we have to be alert to all kinds of dangers out here in cyberspace. We have people sending us a great many e-mails with viruses, worms and Trojan horses. We have people trying to steal our credit card information as well as our names and passwords we use to get onto certain sites, such as where we do our banking. Cyberspace is becoming as dangerous as walking alone in a big city late on a Saturday night with the street lights out.
If you notice the title we have an asterisk after the word "Everything." Well, here is the explanation for that asterisk. We know that we cannot write a book about everything and have it remain current. The internet is changing too fast for that. But, we will do our best to update our resource page with the new dangers and their solutions as fast as they become available.
In this article we will look at the problems we all face and what we can do to fight back. We will only have two links in this article. The first link will be to our resource page where we will keep all of the other links you will need to access the necessary tools for staying safe on the internet. We do this because from time to time we will get new tools or the old ones will change their web address. Thus, by keeping our resource pages updated this e-book is less likely to need revision and it can continue to be shared without fear of its being outdated. The second link is the e-mail address of our Corporate Training Consultant.
On our resource page, as we mentioned above, we will also have an update section as new dangers crop up along with the corresponding tools (when they become available) to fight those dangers.
If you have any suggestions you want to make concerning anything in this article, please feel free to send an e-mail to DrBob@shopforcharityday.com. Yes, he is our Corporate Training Consultant. Your suggestions will be most welcomed.
