How do I use your Weekly Special webpage?

The diagram to the left is a mock-up of the final layout of the Weekly Special newsletter. This is the same format Shop for Charity Day sends to you on a weekly basis.

We have provided the ability to duplicate our newsletter with very little effort. By sending the Weekly Specials to your supporters, you can create a new avenue of revenue. More on that later.

When the page first loads, the Weekly Special stores for this week are already selected for you. If you want to use the same stores, simply enter your Organization ID number into the text box and click on the "Create Code" button. If you want to personalize the Header and Footer areas, you can do that also. Full editing capability has been added to both sections.

Why should I send Weekly Specials to our supporters?

SFCD has developed an exclusive tool enabling you to create customized Weekly Specials e-mails you send directly from your organization. What's so great about that? Bottom line - by coming from your organization, your supporters know their shopping is benefiting you, and more shoppers on your unique shopping pages mean more funding for your organization.

How do I forward the Weekly Specials to our supporters?

Forwarding the Weekly Specials newsletter is quite simple. The newsletter you received is already uniquely coded for your organization. Simply open the Weekly Specials newsletter, or in some e-mail tools, just highlight the Weekly Specials newsletter, and click on the Forward button. I would suggest describing the purpose of the Weekly Specials newsletter:

    1. so your supporters know it's from you.
    2. to explain the benefit to your supporters by shopping online.
    3. so you can say Thank You for supporting your organization.

How do I incorporate the Weekly Specials into our autoresponder?

Since all autoresponders are different, we cannot answer this question specifically. However, we can tell you that the code generated through our Weekly Specials page is a basic HTML table. Have your autoresponder representative (or webmaster) copy the code and paste it into the appropriate position within your autoresponder newsletter.

What is [[name]]?

This is simply a placeholder within the Header and Footer area. If you want your organizational name to appear within the header and footer area, simply type [[name]] in place of your organizational name. If you would rather type your organizational name, you can do that also. We deal with organizations with very long names, so this is a convenient way for you save valuable time.

What if we don't have mass e-mail capabilities?

If you are still using the US Postal Service to communicate with your supporters, you could probably save a lot of money by utilitizing e-mail technology. We have several resources available right here at your fingertips to get you started. In the mean time, add a descriptive paragraph with a URL designed specifically for your organization in your next publication. Use this webpage to create your unique URL: http://www.shopforcharityday.net/OrgLink.aspx. After entering your organization ID number, a link will be created for the purpose of e-mail. You can use this same link in your newsletter publications. Every time a supporter shops using this link, you will receive a percentage of their purchase. This webpage also creates the link that your webmaster can use to link directly to your shopping page.
